The Scared Giraffe

 The Scared Giraffe

Once upon a time there was a giraffe who was practicing climbing, because this giraffe is a crazy giraffe and was always up to no good. One day he climbed way too high, even for him, hes stuck up high and there's no way down.  So he yelled out for help but there was no one in sight.  It was getting late, he tried and tried by screaming loudly, suddenly someone came passed.  Who are you? said the giraffe still hanging on the log. I am Fred the giraffe from Africa, im new here.

Fred helped get scared  the giraffe down, he used his long legs as a ladder.  But Fred took the giraffe down to a dungeon and suddenly Fred just disappeared.  I was left locked up in a cell in this dark, smelly, cold dungeon eating dirty leaves and drinking out of dirty puddles.  10 days later the giraffe is still there, he decides he needs a plan to escape, but how?  He got an idea, there is a vent up high, he will stand on the big table and use neck to break open the vent.  Oh no he cant fit into the vent, but he has just spotted keys that he can reach just outside the cell with his long neck.  Yes it worked, he was able to unlock his cell.  He ran to the main door of the dungeon, its locked!!! the keys to this door must be on the other side.  Look! he spots a hole in the wall, the hole is just about big enough for him the squeeze through.  Now he just needs to find his way home.  On his way home he wonders why Fred was so mean.

  1. Kia ora Harley, this is an incredibly detailed pieces of writing. The twist in your story really caught me by surprise, I did not expect Fred to help the scared giraffe but then go on to trap him in a dungeon. I'm pleased the giraffe finally got to safety in the end. I also wonder why Fred was so mean. Perhaps that could be the title of tomorrow's quick write. Keep up the great work.

  2. Hi Harley,
Wow what a great story, I wonder if it made the giraffe think about getting up to no good next time.
That was really mean of Fred leaving him in the dungeon for 10 days, i'm so glad he escaped.

  3. Hi Harley. Your story was very captivating, I wanted to know what would happen next. I really like that the giraffe wondered about Fred and why he was being mean. It shows you have an understanding that when someone is being mean there is a reason why they do these things. Great work.
